The Cariñera is a variety of burgundy, spanish wine grape.

In Spain it is mostly found in the regions of Cataluña and La Rioja, being the base of the Priorato wines and being part of the D.O.C. Rioja.
The Cariñera wine grape its usually mixed with Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnacha. As a result we obtain wines of an specially intense color, slightly aromatic, and with high levels of sugar and alcohol.
